| If I understand your question, er, comment, water is great NOT ONLY because of its properties but because it's abundant and dirt-cheap. Concerning the high-pressure cooling system, if you have your radiator correctly topped off, there should be a minimum of air in the system...very low volume (like one or two cubic inches). Once the system heats up, that little airspace becomes a high quality vapor, and eventually a saturated vapor. After that, the pressure still increases due to further temperature increase, but it doesn't need to be pressurized initially. Since there is no room for all this water vapor to occupy, it is forced to stay liquid and keep the higher specific heat (Cp=1). This is ideal because the specific heat of water vapor is something like half that of liquid water. So yes, water is outstanding for cooling purposes. It's a piss-poor refrigerant though :)
